FAQs
Why Dog Guy?
I don’t think dog training is that difficult - however it is just having the knowledge in what to do that makes me different. I don’t have a one quick fix , I prefer to use methods that are going to be easy to use , not complicated and something the whole family can do.
What is your training methodology?
I make no apologies - I use treats when I can and voice control and then hand signals. Don’t think treats are forever- they are a tool you use while you get the dog to listen and then we slowly move away from them. I refuse to work with choke chains and e collars - simply because I believe there are better ways to work with your dog.
Do you guarantee your training?
No is the simple answer. I guarantee I will work with you to get your desired results - but you still have to put in the work yourself to get those results. Having been training for 20 years I will have the answer you need.
How do you operate with your methods?
Over 20 years of dog training has taught me that every single dog is different but so are the owners. I will work alongside you to get the best out of your dog and work on what you want to achieve. The first 5 minutes we meet we sit down and work out what success looks like and work from there.
Have you got any dogs yourself?
I currently have 2 golden retrievers- Charlie and Delta
Aren’t group classes better?
Just think yourself of being with a coach and having 1:1 training or in a group. In 1:1 you work on specific issues and can get quick results and ability to ask questions. Rest assured with 1:1 training your dog will be one of the well behaved ones!
